FAQs

Is TreeStory free to use?

Yes, TreeStory is free and allows you to share your photos and stories with a community of people. All we ask is for you to share your Story and others you like on the site wherever you can. We want to gather as many as we can to build a huge map of Liverpool City Region TreeStories!

What is the Liverpool City Region?

The Liverpool City Region includes Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral. If your TreeStory is outside of this area, unfortunately we can’t accept your upload. Not yet, at least! In the future maybe we can expand our project.

Do I need a log in to use TreeStory?

No, just simply share your email address with us with your upload and we’ll be in touch if there’re any issues.

Can I delete or edit my TreeStory?

If you wish to delete or make any edits to your TreeStory please contact us and we’ll make the changes as soon as possible.

Can I do a bulk upload of multiple TreeStories?

Unfortunately not, but the process to upload a TreeStory is quick and easy and as long as you have everything prepared (link to how to guide) takes less than 5 minutes.

What size image should I upload?

Please keep your images below 2000px wide and below 2mb. More details on our How to Guide.

Do I have to write my story?

You can share your story in writing with us (under 1000 words) or as audio (under 10 minutes). See our How To Guide with more information on how to share your story as audio.

I’m outside the Liverpool City Region, can I still upload?

Unfortunately we can’t accept your upload. Not yet at least! In the future maybe we can expand our project.

Someone has already written a TreeStory about my Tree, can I still share one?

Please do, we encourage you to share your Story about your favourite trees, it’s amazing to hear everyone’s personal stories about popular Liverpool City Region trees.

Someone has used my photo in their TreeStory.

If you believe someone has used your image, please contact us and we’ll get in touch.

Someone has put my information in their Story.

We endeavour to check that all information used in TreeStories avoid including personal information. If someone has included something about yourself you don’t want in the story, please contact us and we’ll sort it out.

My TreeStory is in a private space, where do I pin it to the map?

If your TreeStory is in a private space (a garden, backyard, somewhere inaccessible to the public) please tag the Tree near by (end of the road, round the corner) so no one can find or visit the tree.

I want to report an issue with the TreeStory site.

Contact us if you find an issue with our site, but please visit our How To Guide first in case the information you’re looking for is there.

My upload failed, what do I do?

Be sure you’ve filled out all the necessary fields in the upload form and check out our How To Guide. If you’re still running into problems please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you.
